If you are ready for the challenge, go, but if you feel like the work would be too much or that the grading scale would be too hard for you then don't force yourself to go. For many freshman year was easy, but for me it became stressing because of my procrastination and bad work ethic, so if you know that you procrastinate a lot do not go to Banneker, unless you want to unlearn that in the hardest way possible. If you think you can do it, do it, I'm sure it'll help you immensely. But, if you, as a future student (or parent) think this is too much for you (or your child) then please think over your choices again.

If you are willing to go that extra mile and work hard for the things that you desire then I would say go for it. However, I must warn anyone that plans to attend Banneker that it is not easy. If you are planning to find a school that would give you minimal work and you automatically get the A, then Banneker is the school for you. Yes, freshman year will be the easiest, but as the year progresses, it get's harder. This is my last year at Banneker and may I say it was not smooth sailing. I hit some speed bumps along the way, but you got to be able to keep going. Banneker might be complex, but it prepares you in many significant ways. For example, in most of my English classes and History classes, I had to write essay. I really did not like it nor did I want to do it. The first few times were the hardest, but once I got used to it and looked back at my old work to see the mistakes I made so I wouldn't make them again, it was smooth sailing from there. So essays might sound a little tedious and overwhelming now, but once you get to college you will be popping essays in a blink of an eye. To conclude this, if you are willing to go to school that mentally prepares you for college, the Banneker is the place to go; just be careful, it will seem a little overwhelming, but take a deep breath and I promise you will get through it.
