There is no typical Florida State student. Each one is extremely hardworking and intelligent in there ouwn way.
There is no typical Florida State University student. Florida State University is so diverse ranging from students that grew up in Florida to international students. Some of the typical things we do on campus is to go to the union on market Wednesdays. To attend football games in the fall. To get thrown into the Westcott Fountain on your 21st birthday to become a "true nole". We're all different and I think that is one of the things that makes this university so special.
To generalize the average student here, I would say that people who enjoy partying, are satisfied with just being a face in a crowd, don't feel the need to push themselves academically, and are alright with not knowing their classmates and professors would love it here. Most students love sports and absolutely worship the football team, so an interest in that is a must.
That's impossible to do. There's a wonderful variety of people that attend Florida State that it would be rude to try and categorize them into one specific type. The abundance of individuals we have are what make our school what it is.
One that attends the Florida State University is enthusiastic. If you are the kind of scholar looking to embrace school spirit and walk around campus in college apparel, face-paint on game days, and overall indulge in school traditions, Florida State is the campus to do so. While the Florida State football team has had numerous accounts of negativity in the local and national news headlines, Florida State students and fans have still upheld the Garnet and Gold with pride, wearing Seminole apparel with the upmost pride, regardless of what other entities have to say about it. To me, this is the type of person who should attend the Florida State University. Someone who has pride and enthusiasm through good times, and bad times, and never once will regret to call themselves a Seminole.
A Florida State student is a driven, energetic, and determined individual. Someone who is smart and wants the college experience. Friendly and outgoing willing to walk and survive the heat and the cold.
The people at FSU are a very diverse and outgoing bunch. There is no prototype of the typical FSU student because they come in all shapes, sizes, and background. The people here have strong school spirit and there is a tribal connection between students even if their only thing in common was being an FSU Seminole. One thing is for sure, to be an FSU student you have to enjoy the sun.
The typical FSU student would have to be someone that is willing to push out of their boundaries to meet new people and join many organizations that'll benefit them and their future. They have to be able to challenge themselves and persevere to any difficult course that'll go in their way, and through everything, still have a great time.

True Seminoles know how to have fun without compromising their grades. We get our kicks through helping others through our community service work, and from our student clubs/organizations. When we're not out helping better our community, we're in the library studying it up! You can find us studying alone or studying with fellow Noles.
At Florida State there isn't a typical "look" that the student body has. But personality wise most students are very outgoing and always ready to have a good time.
When I visited FSU, I saw that most of the students were very spirited always walking around with their uniform on and very proud to represent FSU no matter where they were at. They could have been at McDonalds, or a shopping Center and they'd have FSU uniform. The students there are very proud of their University and aren't afraid to show it.
The typical Florida State students is very laid back and excitement driven. You won't meet many people on campus that are obsessed with their grades or super concerned about their futures. They are content with the moment.
A person that is committed to finding themselves and willing to elevate into a better person. Being simple minded will make it hard to be open to a new horizon, but if you are open to meeting new people and learning more, you will find open opportunities at your doorstep.
Someone that is considering going to FSU should realize that this is a place to excel academically while at the same time proudly supporting the relentless spirit of a Seminole
A Florida State University student should be committed to their studies and yet be outgoing and willing to have fun, and of course be full of school spirit!!
When beginning my time at FSU I was pleased to see how diverse the schools student population was. The school offers such a wide range of opportunities and interests that I truly believe there is a place for anybody looking to make Florida State their future home. It is difficult to label FSU students into one description because there are so many interesting and unique people with a wide range of qualities and interests. One thing that stood out to me most when deciding on a college was how friendly everyone was at FSU staff and students both. It didn't have near the same pretentious feel that other notable state schools had and was undoubtedly the most friendly environment. Florida State students are known for being able to balance all of the fun social aspects that college life has to offer while also maintaining discipline in school and work. If there is one thing that all FSU students have in common, it is a desire to develop and explore the world, a dedication to the advancement of themselves and their peers, and explosive pride for their school.
A typical FSU Student needs to be academically very motivated, but still enjoy going to the games, enjoying the events hosted on campus, and be able to balance clubs with classes.
A typical FSU student is not only hard working academically, but we as a student body are all very personable. In every class that I have attended, we all help each other out to do better. Either by posting about a study group or sharing study guides. We really are one tribe; one heartbeat.
The typical student at Florida State University should be open to tradition. Students attending this school need to be able to take pride in their University no matter what the circumstances may be.

But the one thing that all Florida State University students have in common is our ability to become great. If it doesn't involve a push of some kind, they're most likely not going to be interested. Most of the Seminoles are insanely proud of their school, willing to help anyone who needs it and ready to have fun. I've seen more of my classmates offer support, help and food for people who can't afford something or need someone to talk to. Everyone wears Florida State gear at least once a week for no reason and lastly, our students want to have a good time. First let me preface this with I am NOT a typical FSU student. The typical FSU student is a Florida resident and participates in Greek life. The typical FSU student loves to party and be with big crowds. Some of them can balance their social and academic life but many of them (at least freshman) go kind of crazy with the frat parties and clubs. FSU girls are very pretty - don't know why that is but they really are.
Author, Napoleon Hill once said, “The starting point of all achievement is desire.” These past four years of high school have transformed me into a completely new person. Throughout my high school career, not only have I had to deal with change, but also I’ve had to change myself. I believe life requires everybody to accept innovation. This acceptance leads to personal growth, flexibility, and new opportunities. From freshman to senior year, I have noticed a positive shift in my work and priorities. Going into high school freshman year, I was extremely reticent and not engaged in any extracurricular activities. I was going to school only for an education, and I felt myself becoming slightly depressed. Not a lot of people knew who I was, and I was petrified of attracting attention. I recall promising myself in the beginning of freshman year that I would be open to trying new things and taking beneficial risks. To follow up with my promise, I tried out for cheerleading and ran for office in Student Council. Breaking out of my shell was not an easy task for me to accomplish, but this change led to the start of some of the finest years of my life. Now, walking down the hallway, I feel more confident and cheerful among my peers. I enjoy investing countless amount of hours at school participating in various extracurricular activities. This change in attitude has made me the devoted, self-assured person I have always wanted to be. Now going into college, I know I will make more positive changes in my life to help me grow to work and live to my potential!

A typical Florida State student is serious about their future, but also wants to enjoy their college experience. This town has many different things to do as far as nightlife. During the day, besides classes, there are nearby springs and field that students can play sports in. A person that attends this University should adapt to a self taught study habit. The courses taken and their difficulty depends on the professor but at the end of the day, students need to know how to teach themselves material that isn't spoon fed to them. Also at Florida State, we are a family. It is a more untied environment than other colleges because it is a small town. A person that should attend Florida State should be honored to wear Garnet and Gold.
The people that attend Florida State University are very driven people with some pretty great personalities.
