Most students come from all kinds of races, societal classes, and ethnic backgrounds, yet every student is given an equal chance, no one is given favoritism over another. I have been discriminated against, being born in Canada and my parents being proud Ethiopians, I was most likely bound to be discriminated against, because my hair was longer and wavier than most of the African-Americans and most Caucasians think that I'm mixed, whether it may be slight accent or my hair, but for the most part it isn't hardcore teasing, it's joking but it still hurts when you replay the words in your head. The typical student at our school is usually Caucasian, Central American, Hispanic/Latino, African- American, Asian, or African. In our school a lot of students tend to leave the state to go to great universities like N.Y.U, U.S.C, and M.I.T, because a lot of kids take a huge AP course load and want to improve their knowledge and education. At Olathe North, the majority of students don't care too much for gossip and drama, we're more academically focused. Most students tend to actually stay within their racial group, for no particular reason but most are generally nice and respectful towards each other. If you're looking for a normal high school with stellar teachers and outstanding academics then Olathe North High School is honestly and truly the place for you.
