Student, Cosumnes Oaks High School, Class of 2016,
At Cosumnes Oaks High School there are very Extraordinary programs and we as students are very fortunate to have these opportunities. The most popular extracurriculars at CO would most likely be UNICEF, Key Club, and Leadership. I have been involved with CO's Athletic program the past 3 years with soccer and volleyball and hope to continue this year. I would highly recommend going out for a team because the experience alone is priceless. With an amazing coaching staff I learned so much that I could use both on and off the court/field. In addition to that I met knew people and learned how to work with all sorts of different personalities which taught me to be a better communicator as a well as a well-rounded student athlete. Another program I highly recommend is CO's Avid program. This is my fourth year in the AVID Program and I am so grateful for all the knowledge I have gained that has better prepared me for college. I was taught basic skills that go a long way in "real world". For example keeping my thoughts and ideas organized through Cornell- notes, Socratic seminars, and having the ability to read a complex piece of work and comprehending it to different ideas and subjects is priceless. Knowledge goes a long way and with AVID I feel like I'm one step ahead on the road to college.
