Would you recommend attending Western School of Technology and Environmental Science if you had the choice? Why or why not?

I would because they give you a lot of opportunities. It's a magnet school so you leave Western Tech with knowledge of a trade that you could potentially go to school to major in with experience already. Also you could go straight to work.

I highly recommend anyone to attend WSTES as long as it's not for Environmental Science. Despite being an "environmental" school, WSTES doesn't give anyone taking the Environmental Science magnet (like me) hands on experience. All of the other magnets greatly expose their students to the field. Individuals who are in Cosmetology work on hair, in Culinary food is being prepared, and the people in Health Science go to hospitals. However, in the Environmental Science magnet we just visit zoos and aquariums (as spectators), and talk about pollution instead of acting against it. If one wants first hand experience in cleaning up the environment then WSTES is not a good option. However, if anyone is interested in pursing a career unrelated to Environmental Science I recommend that they choose this high school.

I would recommend Western Tech. The school will make you work hard and not expect anything less. This competitive nature will help students turn into excellent businesspeople and career people. Students participate and support the school no matter what the cause whether it be an Earth Day celebration to a Ping Pong tournament. Western Tech is a high school that really tries to prepare you academically for college.
