The three extracurricular activities that are most popular at Powhatan High School are the Interact club, the Left-Overs club, and societies such as NHS (National Honors Society). I personally would recommend each of these seeing as how all three of them require community service, which I love.

Powhatan High School is dedicated to making lives around the community as well as our students lives better. Our most popular extracurricular activities would have to be our clubs and SCA organization. School wide the leftovers club which is also known as Rely for Life is our biggest club at PHS I was a member and a lot of work is put into holding a rely for life festival at the end of the year. We boost moral and take donations that go towards fighting cancer. Our second most popular club at PHS is the Interact club. I'm a board member of this club and have extra responsibilities than the other members like leading sessions and meeting before school weekly. We partner up with the LION's organization and volunteer at many homes and businesses around the community that are in need and host the Special Olympics with our own volunteers running the whole event. Lastly is our SCA organization where you have to get approved to be a member. It meets before school every week to decide and plan every school activity that goes on at Powhatan High. Our member are extremely dedicated and many times have stayed after school and have come on weekends to volunteer their time and efforts. Powhatan is already a tight knit community and our High School is closer than ever with our organizations and clubs that go outside of just the school but to lives everywhere.

Powhatan is most known for it's Football and Baseball teams, I am trying to make a difference in our ever growing Agricultural Department. Our 4 -H team is only a few years old, but we are growing strong. In out last competition we had a first place winner, I personally placed third with my show cow We are looking forward in participating in our Virginia State Fair in a few weeks . I recommend this highly rewarding club, I have the responsibility for the care of my two cows and have learned a lot about myself through this experience. I see myself in a veterinary program in a few short years, with the help of scholarships I will be able to attend a college that will help me reach my goal of becoming a veterinarian,

I would say that PHS Leftovers which is a club that does amazing community service projects is very popular as well as National Honors Society. Another would be the Dance Team at PHS! I would recommend all three of these because they are a great way to be involved in the school and the community.
