At Dixie State University, we enjoy sunny weather all year round. Because the weather fluctuates between 70's through the mid 80's, fall through spring; DSU students like to be outdoors. Most students take advantage of the warm weather, the beautiful views of Zion National Park, and hidden desert oasis's only found on foot. Dixie is the perfect university for outdoor enthusiasts. Going along with the outdoor theme, many students at Dixie State like to take advantage of the sand volleyball courts located on campus. If the afternoon heat is too much to bear, the sand volleyball courts are well lit for nightly fun. Volleyball is a favorite past time of students and a great way to stay active and healthy. If hiking and volleyball are not your favorite sports, why not try the lake? Pristine lakes surround Southern Utah. Rent a paddleboard or Kayak from DSU'S ORAC center and discover the Utah desert's hidden jewels. Sand Hallow State Park is a great place for students to beat the heat and refresh in the cool water. The lake is dotted with sand stone cliffs that make for some great photography moments (can you say selfy?) and a place for students who are adrenaline junkies to enjoy the rush of cliff jumping. Students can be found at the lake all year round. These three past times are unique to the Dixie State University experience.
