A typical sva student would be someone that sees art in everything. He/She works hard to achieve their goals personally and academically. They know how to have a good time wherever they go with who ever they are with. They're focused, determined and great to be around.

My real first day begins Sept 8th - I have sat in on a class last year as this is a 1 year Grad program - I sat in on a guest speaker from the industry - Awesome!! It was a relaxed environment and inspiring. So far my classmates are a group of international students and all excited to begin.

A typical SVA student is always drawing, has paint on their clothes, and is probably sleep deprived. A person that wants to attend SVA should be motivated to keep improving themselves and their artwork.

Definitely an art student, which can be anyone who loves art enough to have it encompass their whole life! That doesn't mean you can't have fun - all the students like to go out around the city and explore their other hobbies besides art, but it all comes down to those late nights pouring over an assignment.

The typical SVA student is someone who is an open minded, creative thinking, artistic individual. Out of the ordinary is a word I would best use to describe the students of SVA, the ones who will make waves.

The typical student at the School of Visual Arts is very dedicated and passionate about their work. Most students are very artistic and competitive. So the type of student expected is one that puts in all their effort into their work, loves to constantly challenge themselves and loves friendly competition. Most students don't get enough sleep because the school really pushes you to pull out your greatest work. The type of student that should attend should prepare for sleepless nights and stock up on coffee.

Vibrance and committed. That is what SVA students are comprised of. Anyone creative, anyone looking to experience NYC with welcoming and inclusive friends. Those are the prime candidates for SVA.
