The typical AAU student in high school was the "artsy kid" who was always doodling on his math homework, and adding fancy, hand-decorated titles to his English papers. She was probably was the one who took apart the vacuum cleaner, "just to see" if she could fix it. He was the one who made his own paper-mache projects, just for fun. They were the kids who wanted whatever was being made to work better, and look beautiful too. They were thoughtful problem solvers, who maybe decorated their own t-shirts.
The type of person who should attend the Academy of Art University should be completely passionate about art and design, and possess a strong desire to sharpen their skills in their chosen artistic field. This school is easy to enter, and few finish. If you have the desire to learn, there is a place for you here. The Academy offers well-versed instruction and resources, but it is really up to the student to turn out exceptional work. A student at this school must be able to prioritize life responsibilities, while consistently creating quality work, worthy of attention and study.
