In the DPT program, students volunteer, join various fitness challenges/races and go out in DC. Most students in this program don't have families of their own yet, but I am a mother of 4 so I do things differently. My top 3 are attending soccer games, soccer and fitness training independently and with my kids and dog, and gardening/incorporating my homegrown veggies into healthy recipes with my kids.

We like to experience the different foods and aesthetics of the various neighbourhoods in D.C. Being politically active in some variety is another activity that we like to do for fun. Finally, going to the monuments at night still has as much magic as the first night that we arrived in Washington, D.C.

Students at GWU have the privilege of living within a mile of the National Mall, giving us endless opportunities to explore monuments, museums, and festivals. Being one of the most politically active schools in the country, few students would argue against the statement that protesting advocacy are fun. We love to raise our voices for issues that we strongly support. Although we lack a huge football arena or a showy marching band, GW still loves its sports. Students enjoy supporting our teams, especially during big games.

We also love to go site seeing, since we are in the nation's capitol. Finally, the law school regularly puts on student events, such as a dance each year.

Being in the nation's capital, there are so many options for fun activities for students here. First of all, we're less than 3 blocks away from the White House and other great monuments, so sightseeing is a major must, no matter how many times we've seen the historic buildings. Another option is to just hop on the metro and visit a couple of DC's great neighborhoods and shopping/tourist centers such as Dupont circle. Finally, another option is to just hang around campus and hang with friends.
