Marquette students are all very friendly and open. There's never been a time where I haven't had a door held open for me, or felt like I couldn't talk to anybody. Many of the students are involved in community service and enjoy helping others. If you're the type of person who is open and willing to meet new people and try new things, Marquette is the school to attend.

Marquette is a mid-sized school, but still has a strong sense of community. Everyone seems caring and compassionate, whether it's simply opening doors for each other or supporting each other in times of need.

If you want to come to Marquette, you should be a city person and be able to sleep with loud noises. It’s a joke that our lullaby is sirens and car horns and even people screaming. Cities never sleep so you should be able to sleep through loud noises, if not you might want to buy some nice ear plugs because there is never a quiet night around here. Marquette has endless opportunities, so being adventurous helps, going a little outside your comfort zone, but also know the boundaries of your adventure zone, because Marquette is surrounded by not the safest neighborhoods. Although Marquette does a good job keeping the campus safe with blue lights and police, you should still be aware of your surroundings.

A typical day at Marquette is very fast pace, lots of community building and tough academically. The type of person that should attend here should be able to have a good balance of social and academia and if a minority, tough skin. Milwaukee is the most segregated city in the U.S.

I think any kind of person could find a niche at Marquette. There is a pretty active Greek life, but if you're not into that, there are academic clubs, vocal music groups, everything. All you really need to fit in is an open mind.

Marquette students typically come from the suburbs of Chicago or other suburbs around the state of Wisconsin. Most students care a lot about their course grades, so house parties are non-existent during major exam weeks. Community service events have high attendance by students. Greek life exists on campus, but you don't miss out on anything from not participating. There are plenty of both private high school and public high school graduates.

A smart and active student. A Marquette University student should be someone who is willing to learn and ready to represent exactly why they are a Golden Eagle. Marquette is not an easy school to get into, I believe the type of person that attends Marquette does not judge one another but rather is accepting of diversity and willing to learn from one another differences.
