I really think ISU could be for anybody. With the different groups, Greek life, and how big the campus is, it isn't hard to make friends if you put yourself out there. I came from a small high school(class of about 49 kids), so coming here with a school of almost 20,000 plus kind of sent me into panic mode. I spent my first few weeks by myself and not really pushing myself to meet anyone. Finally, I decided not to do that anymore and got involved. I am now a member of a Sorority, and honor society member, and participate in multiple clubs. I think anyone can really fit in at ISU if they want too. Diversity is a big thing for us.

Illinois State really doesn't have an average student. We all come from very different highschools, some of us from other countries even. People that want to learn in a classic college environment with a modern twist should come to ISU.

Illinois State University has a niche for anyone who is willing to work hard to obtain their degree. ISU has a degree problem for 99% of students.

A typical ISU student in high school should be hardworking, experimental and friendly. Here at ISU you're going to be pushed in your classes to work hard and try new things. In my first semester biology class I dissected a rat, I've never done something like that before but being open-minded allowed me to try it out and not give up.
