Very focused. You must also be smart and motivated. In order to successfully get through college you need to be able to put 110% effort into everything you do. It can be timely and require a great deal of self-discipline, but as long as the students here are doing exactly that, the opportunities are endless.

If you like cold weather and snow for about nine months than this school is fitting. If a student's major includes a minor of pre-vet than this is also one school with a accessible program to achieve those goals.

Typical is a challenging word. I have been a student at UCCS for a two semesters now. There is a balance between young, new students, many of them perusing a degree in the beginning of their adulthood, and adult students, like myself, who are back to school after many years away. UCCS is a big commuter school, myself included. When you show up to class it is not uncommon to see older adult and even some adults with their kids. The typical student is an older, commuter student who possibly has a family at home.

UCCS hosts a large variety of students with a healthy mix of backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. Although the majority of students are between the ages of 18-22, there are plenty of students who are in their 30's, 40's, and even 50's. UCCS hosts high school students who wish to earn college credits early on as well.

For those interested in sports, active living, and outdoor activities, UCCS offers an incredible and new Rec Center that not only has the finest workout equipment and classes but also hosts a program for groups of students to get together and participate in many of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer.

The best way to answer this question, is there is no ideal type of person at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. UCCS students do not come in a one size fits all model. Wether you are outspoken, conservative, liberal, young, old, and any other box you choose to define yourself in, the University will never put you out for who you are. The only signifier I can honestly find is that we are all students, we are all Coloradans (regardless of how long you have lived here) and we all have a thirst for knowledge and dedication to our own personal growth within our university.

There is nothing typical about a University of Colorado Colorado Springs student. We have students from all over the world and every different background imaginable. The diversity this school has is one of its unique features. If there was one element that unites students here at UCCS is the love for nature, whether that be hiking in Garden of the Gods or looking at it from Kramer library. Our school is surround by the gorgeous Colorado outdoors, including a great view of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.

The typically University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, or UCCS, student is a commuter student who lives at home. I'm sure they are people who live at the dorms, and are from out of state. However I do not think there are a lot. I have found that most of the people that go to UCCS, are majoring in pre-med, engineering, or a field of science.
