Spartanburg High School is a place meant to foster the willing and disciplined student-learner. The teachers and administrators try to help every single child thrive in this environment, but it is difficult sometimes when children are not willing to cooperate or even to learn. Students with no drive and no work ethic are the kinds that should not attend Spartanburg High School. In a place of such positive energy and great things, a student with a bad attitude or total lack of drive is a weight on the whole student body and staff. Irresponsible, lazy students who have no desire to better themselves and those who settle for mediocrity are only hurting themselves at the least and everyone else around them in some cases. Lazy students take away time from teachers for kids who want to learn and should not attend Spartanburg High School.

A student that is looking for a strictly rigerous academic career without outside influences such as a rowdy class, or drug dog searches would not want to attend Spartanburg High School because although there ARE very rigorous courses, students have fun and can mess around as well.

A student who would not be welcome is someone who is a lazy troublemaker. If you are lazy with your work, most likely you will fail your classes. If you cause trouble, then you will find yourself sent to the office for discipline. Bullying is not a large problem at the school, and they would like to keep it that way.
