At Plantation High School, extra curricular activities that involve school spirit are all the rave. Student Government Association, an association of which I am President, allows for students to build their social skills by exposing them to pep rallies, spirit weeks, and community service. I would recommend this for the sole reason that it gets students socially involved in the best parts of the high school experience. Our principal's personal favorite extra curricular activity is Football. Even if students are not on the team, the coaches give students the opportunity to volunteer for water duty and equipment handling. I think that this is a good sport for students to get involved in because the school spirit that it embodies emphasizes the joy that healthy competition can bring. The third most popular extra curricular activity is the step team. These boy and girl dance teams use "step performances" to get involved in one of broward county's most competitive dance competitions(stomp off). This is a great activity for students to get involved in because the team members act as family and are great individuals to be around.
