At the University of Kentucky, one of our favorite things to do for fun is DanceBlue. DanceBlue is a 24 hour dance marathon that also raises money for pediatric cancer - it is fun and is community service! Another thing we love at UK is joining clubs or social fraternities. We also love going to basketball games and watching them with our friends.

One thing that students here at the University of Kentucky do for fun is supporting our fellow Wildcat athletes. We love to go to athletic events together and show why we're proud to be wildcats. Another thing that students do for fun here is study together at good ole Willy T Young library. Going to the library is more of a social event. We may not get a whole lot done, but we love getting a group of our sorority sisters together to go and attempt to study together. Last but not least, students at the university love to attend fraternity parties! That's not all there is to being greek, but it definitely makes you're stay at the university a whole lot of fun.

Spend all fall semester talking about UK basketball and acting like we care about UK football but really just dreaming about UK basketball. Watching every game and cheering on the UK basketball team. Celebrate UK winning the basketball games by taking to the streets for a night of drinking and burning of couches.

The top three things students do for fun at UK would have to be of course University of Kentucky basketball games. Being one of the top teams in the nation everyone gets together to either go to the games at Rupp Arena or have watch parties at someones house. We also enjoy going hiking at the Red River Gorge that is only about 40 minutes away. It is a beautiful hike and it gets our minds off of all the school work we have for just a few hours. One last thing that many UK students enjoy doing is going to Keenland- the local horse race track. Students are always out there rooting and betting on their favorite horses.

The biggest event at the University of Kentucky is basketball season of course! Every student has a chance to enter the lottery and win tickets to watch a basketball game at the famous Rupp Arena. The second biggest thing is football season. During the fall, every Saturday (referred to as Caturday by the students) is a time for everyone to get together and watch football games and spend time with friends. The third biggest event here is a fundraiser named DanceBlue. It is a 24-hour dance marathon where students participate to raise money for pediatric cancer for the local hospital.

Students at the University of Kentucky are all but boring. Me being a current student here, I can say that the top three things that students do for fun here at UK would be to first, join a fraternity or sorority. I am a Delta Gamma and I have to admit that I have had the best times with my sisters. It can be a chill night in the house watching movies or hosting Anchor Splash, our philanthropy event. Being a part of the greek community is definitely the way to get connected and have some fun at UK! Another thing students do for fun here is go to all of the yummy and fun CSF (Christain Student Fellowship) functions! I say yummy because they are always handing out free food! Who wouldn't want to eat midnight pancakes? Lastly but certainly not least, UK students go to basketball games! We students have a lottery that we can enter that gives us a chance to score some student priced tickets. You can even get into the eruption zone if you are lucky!

Grabbing a bite to eat at Tolly Ho (affectionately called "the Ho") is a must, but it's more fun when you go after midnight when it is surprisingly packed. A good hike at the Arboretum has to be on the list as well; one of the most beautiful spots on campus to do your homework in the sunshine or just take a leisurely stroll.

One word: Keeneland. This is one of Kentucky's most beautiful racing tracks. Who doesn't love to get all dressed up, walk through barns full of immaculate horses, meet tons of friendly faces and have a delicious dinner option for everyone in your party!?
On the weekends, to catch a brake, me and my friends will often times head over to the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary. Check out their schedule of events or just go exploring for the day! It is a great way to escape and burn some calories. Finally, FOOD. There are so many delicious restaurants around campus or close to campus. I try to find a new one to try once every couple of weekends!

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2015

Students at the University of Kentucky tailgate, have weekend parties, and go for walks around the beautiful campus for fun.

There are many things that UK students do for fun, however I think the most popular activities include: making a trip to the Student Center to enjoy some good food, many activities that are held there, or to just relax; attending any game and routing for the Cats (football, basketball, soccer, etc.), and going to the Arboretum for a relaxing walk, jog, or run through beautiful areas of nature that showcase Kentucky landscape.

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2018

Three things students like to do at UK are go to basketball games. Basketball games are a great atmosphere and are an extremely great place to meet people. Students like to tailgate on a grassy area nicknamed "The Bowl" where we all dress up to prepare for our football team to play. The third thing students enjoy doing is going to philanthropy events, one in particular being Dance Blue where thousands of students stand for a time of 24 hours straight, dancing and being with each other to raise money for children who are affected with different life threatening diseases.

I would say a favorite of the students is attending basketball games at Rupp Arena. Also fun is to tailgate prior to the football games. A frat party at one of the many frat houses is always available and so much fun.

During the Spring and Fall, University of Kentucky students like to go to Keeneland to watch the horse races. This is a major event in Lexington and thousands of people flock there on the weekends. Students watch the races and bet on horses. Students also like to hang out outside in the quad area and hammock and spend time with friends when it's nice outside. Finally, every time it snows, students like to go to "The Bowl," which is a big hill outside the library and go sledding. Sometimes, students even make snow ramps and ski and snowboard down the hill!

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2018

UK is excitingly fun so this is challenging to have to pick only three things that students do. The first that comes to mind to me is going to basketball games. No one can truly appreciate the experience Rupp Arena provides until you are physically inside cheering on the wildcats. You feel so connected to 24,000 people for a few hours, it's really incredible. Win or lose, being in the student section, or any section at Rupp during a basketball game is tremendously fun. Another thing students do for fun at UK is going to the Keeneland Horse Park in October and April on the weekends. It's a cheap and easy way to have fun in the Lexington area. Students will dress up and make bids on horses in the races. Even if you don't win any of your money back, you're still winning because there's no way you can go to Keeneland and not have fun. The last thing that I am choosing would have to be going to different local restaurants in Lexington. While there are the typical chain restaurants, Lexington has a wide array of local restaurants that provide fresh produce and genial customer service. There are so many different spots in the area that trying the unique menu items is fun in itself.

At the University of Kentucky, the top three things that students do for fun are go to sporting events, join clubs, and be a part of Greek Life. Sporting events are huge at the University of Kentucky, especially basketball and football. The games are cheap, and sometimes free! Everyone is supportive and energetic at the games. Clubs at the university are versatile and welcome all students. There are sporting clubs, student activity clubs, religious clubs, academic clubs, and so many more. It is a great way to get involved with others and the school. Greek life is also a huge part of campus life. There are many philanthropies and many of the students are in a sorority or fraternity. They put on huge events and help raise awareness for many charities and do a ton of volunteer work!

Well the biggest thing that UK students do for fun, is attend University of Kentucky college basketball games. UK has one of the most school spirit centered student bodies you will ever see. Another thing we do for fun is playing in the snow and sledding outside of our main library, the William T. Young Library. This last week we were bombarded with snow and snow days. The way we handled it is a bunch of kids took their mattresses out to where we call 'the bowl,' and went sledding. Lastly, something that UK students do for fun is watch movies. On various days of the week, we have what we call the Late Night Film Series, where films are shown for free in one of our theaters on campus. My friends and I have gone quite a few times, and it always turns out to be a fun night.
