Student, Turlock Christian School, Class of 2016,
At Turlock Christian the students are very limited to do extracurricular activity. The most common, like any other schools, are sports, though I am an athlete and I love to be involved in my team and the games, I do wish that I can expand my horizons to other activities. So, the ones that I would recommend may not be popular to what the student body believes is important. I believe that the number one extracurricular activity that I would want others to participate is the "Pay it Foward" club. The missions of " Pay it Forward" allows students to step into the community and serve. Serving by feeding to the homless, serving by painting Salvations Army gym, things that benefit the community. This extra curriclum activity is one of my favorites because it is student lead and helps other. Secondly, the other two extracurriculm activities that I would recommed is FFA and ASB. Both in which I am involved in, these organizations helps students build leadership skills that will benefit them in years to come. For FFA, many believe that the organization is only for farmers and all that is done is learning about animals and crops. Though, in reality FFA does more leadership conventions that Ag related events. ASB is also a great extracurricular activity because it helps the student body. The members of ASB set the tone and enviorment for the school and the students spirit. The members are the ones planning events and executing fun rallies for the students to enjoy. It is a great organization that allows students to brainstorm ideas, plan events, and use creativity to execute their plans. All three of these extracurriclar activities benefit not only the person in the activity, but people around them. These activities teach teenagers how to become young adults and learn how to interact and benefit their communities. To me, that is my number one goal in life is that whatever I do, whatever I am passionate about, I hope that it be beneficial to others and spark a fire in them to go out and do the same.
