A typical CHSAS (Chicago High School for Agriculture Sciences) student is usually very activate and on top of things. During the school day you will usually find the library, or the computer labs, jammed pack with students that need to finish projects for certain classes. CHSAS' students are always required to ask as many well-thought questions during class and on field trips, so naturally during class you will see students asking many questions in order to stay on top of things. The type of student that should attend CHSAS is a person that can lead others to great accomplishments by having outstanding leadership skills. Leadership is a big part of our school and it is very commonly practiced in many of our activities. Because CHSAS' main focus is agricultural, it attracts students that are pursuing a career in just that.

A Typical student at Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences or CHSAS as we like to call it, is a student that is willing to learn, coming to this school I knew nothing about agriculture, but as time went on I learned new things that most people don't. The students here contain of a mix of not only personalities but also races. At CHSAS something we pride is our diversity, although it is nice to have something in common with people it is even better leaning new things about each other. One of the main focuses here at CHSAS is leadership, not only bringing yourself to success but your team and classmates as well, here students are encouraged to not only help each other but to lead each other to greatness. This is the reason why at CHSAS we embody FFA and what it stands for becoming a chapter in its own and making every student and teacher here a member. Another main thing that students at CHSAS have is the ability to socialize, students often go on field trips where there are many important people from the Ag industry, It is for that reason that students at CHSAS need to be able to socialize and to ask relevant questions. By asking these questions students at CHSAS are always on top of classes as well as the Ag industry. The type of student that should attend CHSAS is one that is curious, willing to learn, has a passion to help people, and a goal to succeed. Although most of the students here don't know what they're getting themselves into when they walk into the doors, they end of loving it.

A typical student is involved in at least 2 clubs or activities, very active in our local FFA chapter, knows almost ever teacher and gets at least a B average. The type of person who should attend this school is someone who wants to get out of the cliques of a normal high school. Someone who isn't closed minded and willing to try new things no matter how weird or gross they may seem. We do a lot of student involvement in our school so students who are adventurous are highly recommended.
