Student, Waynesburg Central High School, Class of 2016,
The type of student who should attend Waynesburg Central High School is one who is comfortable in a small, close-knit community atmosphere. Students at WCHS know everyone and everyone knows them. This, of course, is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because there's so much support from faculty, peers, and even parents of peers. There are always people looking out for you, people who care, and those who have your back. It's a curse because there is always someone in your business--and your business often becomes everyone else's business. Parents other than one's own will be helping to keep you in line and will not hesitate to call your parents if they feel it's warranted or if you're going down the wrong path.
Waynesburg Central is small compared to many schools, but that's what allows us to be close as a whole. Of course, there are still cliques, and students tend to have their special circle of friends, but when push comes to shove, we're all friends, and we stand together. It's kind of nice to be able to be an individual and still belong. It's great to feel like you're "home" in your school and with your people.
The type of student who should attend WCHS is the type who wants to feel like they're part of a close group--like they're a piece of the bigger picture. It would be the type that doesn't mind when people know your business and openly ask what's going on. Students who want a bigger family than the one they were born into would fit into and enjoy high school at Waynesburg Central.
