Student, Mary Baldwin College, Class of 2015,
Students at Mary Baldwin College have the wonderful opportunity to walk to the Blackfriars playhouse and watch an assortment of classic Shakespeare plays. For instance, at freshmen orientation, students are taken down to the playhouse to watch the American Shakespeare Center's version of A Mid Summer Night's Dream as an introduction to the history of the school. Another thing that is open to students is a local favorite hand made ice cream shop called The Split Banana. Freshmen, during orientation, are open to opportunities to win gift certificates to this amazing hole-in-the-wall with various activities presented by the school. Mary Baldwin gives its women opportunities to socialize with one-another through their event-planning organization Baldwin Program Board (BPB). Through BPB, students are able to attend events such as free movie night at the local theater, or even karaoke ice cream socials. These are all marvelous opportunities just a short walk down the hill for the women at Mary Baldwin College.
