The University of Kentucky has an amazing Biology department, which is why I chose to come here. UK offers a diverse student body that provides a positive learning environment in and out of the classroom. UK provides many services to support its students, such as free peer tutoring and tech help.

Someone should attend the University of Kentucky because we value certain things that most universities dont. Students worldwide should want to attend a school that values integrity. By attending the University of Kentucky, students will know that they are getting the most out of their University of Kentucky experience in the most honest way possible. Another reason why students should want to attend the University of Kentucky would be that this is a place for motivated, driven students, and the university accepts only excellence from their pupils. Therefore, if you're looking for a place to motivate you, inspire you, and drive you to success, than the University of Kentucky is home for you. Another reason why someone should attend the University of Kentucky is because at the end of the day we are expected to have respect for one another and human dignity. This is because we, as a community, cannot grow and develop without those aspects adopted by each and every wildcat. It is because of those reasons listed above and many more unmentioned that students should want to attend the University of Kentucky.

Though I personally find listing the top three reasons that one should attend the University of Kentucky rather challenging (given that there are so many I could choose), I shall try my best to pick the top three that influence me the most The first reason that one should attend the University of Kentucky would be that the schools academic history is incredibly impressive, and it offers a large variety of majors and minors. The second reason would be that the University of Kentucky is filled with student run organizations, ranging from club sports to gaming leagues, so there are plenty of ways to get involved on campus. Lastly, and most importantly to me (being one of the main reasons I chose to attend this university), one should attend the University of Kentucky because it has a sense of community like no other. People here go out of their way to make sure that you are alright, and try to be as helpful as they can. That is something you will not and cannot find anywhere other than Big Blue Nation.

  1. It's a state school and has one of the lower-end costs in comparison with a lot of the prestigious private institutions.
  2. Their accommodation on and around campus is expanding. There's a whole lot of construction going on around town to allow more students to live on and near campus.
  3. They're in the middle of building better facilities, so new students will have all the new stuff that all their pamphlets and articles are currently talking about.

Someone should attend the University of Kentucky because for starters it is the most welcoming community. Since the moment I stepped on campus I have felt at home thanks to the welcoming campus, fellow students, and faculty. Another reason to attend UK is because of the outstanding academics. All the programs here are filled with professors that want you to succeed and try their hardest to help you do exactly that. One final reason a student should attend to University of Kentucky is simply because it is The University of Kentucky. I could not ask for a better place to receive my higher education. I can't imagine being on any other campus or pursing any other career and for that I am forever thankful for UK.

The biggest reason of all is to experience the incredible fan base we have here! During basketball season, the student body comes together as one big family to cheer on the Cats and enjoy a good basketball game. Another reason someone should attend UK is because we have so many different ways for someone to get involved. For example, we have many clubs, sports teams, Greek life, and other organizations. Everyone is meant to find their home here and these clubs help the campus seem a little smaller. The third reason is the incredible academic program we have to offer. There are many different majors offered at the university, and even if someone is undecided they are bound to find a major they will excel in.

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2015

As a sophomore, I believe one should attend the university for the following three reasons: wildcats stay together as a family and support each other through everything, kindness and friendship are very known among the student body, and last but not least, the University of Kentucky will not only challenge you academically, but they will also guide you when you need help.

Also, tuition rates are very competitive compared to other institutions. That means students can get the biggest bag for their buck. The campus is very diverse and you will be introduced to all kinds of people when you attend. The campus is also very safe with many well lit paths and call boxes. And a student should also go to UK to learn not only in the classroom but outside as well, students can get hands on learning and traditional classroom style as well.

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2016

Besides offering a multitude of courses to study, UK also offers the opportunity to live with other students going through the same majors. In the Living-Learning Communities, students are matched with roommates and floor-mates that are pursuing similar fields of study so students can begin to develop relationships with other students in the major, which is very advantageous during midterms and final exams. UK is also very competitive education-wise. The programs of study, such as Nursing and Law are very competitive which offers the opportunity for each student to work hard and show that they really are driven to succeed in their respective programs. Lastly, and perhaps the most important reason someone should choose this school is , of course, UK basketball. The atmosphere of Lexington on a game day is something everyone should experience. The entire city seems to come together and bond over the athleticism and skill of our players. Community is the key reason for coming to UK, and there is no bigger, more welcoming community than Big Blue Nation.

There is nothing like sports in the south, and UK has some of the best teams out there- notably our men's basketball team; if you like sports UK is the place to be. Academics is another great reason to consider UK. We have a great learning environment and tons of courses to choose from, so you will never be uninterested. If you love living in a city environment without all the traffic and hustle and bustle, Lexington is the locale for you; UK sits near the heart of downtown but still has the laid-back feel of your typical southern town. We have charm in our boutiques and food on our streets, as any southerner would request.

Finally the degree one can obtain to get a very good job and have a great lifestyle is the true reason to go to Kentucky.

Top 3 reasons for someone attending UK would be the professors are experienced and easy to learn from, the community is great for new people in the sense that you won't feel left out, and of course UK has the best college basketball team in the country, but for real the location is great because it is not a busy city but not empty. There's not too much traffic going on around the city like it would be in, for example, New York or Chicago. I guess what I am trying to say is that there are not too many people and there are not too little people.

Anonymous, Student, University of Kentucky, Class of 2017

There are many reasons people should attend the University of Kentucky, but I've narrowed it down to 3 reasons:

  1. It's a great place to live. Kentucky is a great place geographically because you get to experience all seasons: the blooming flowers and showers that Spring brings, the 90-100 degree days of Summer, the changing leaves and crisp air of Fall, and the beautiful snow that Winter brings.
  2. There's so much to do. Not only is UK a massive school with nearly 30,000 undergrads which brings dozens of clubs and activities to participate in, but it's also located in a great area to do a lot of things outside of UK. Campus is just a short walk to downtown Lexington, where there are plenty of small, local restaurants, and it is also a short drive to the Fayette Mall. In the Fall and Spring, you're also able to take a short drive to Keeneland race track to see some of the finest thoroughbreds race. Finally, if you're into bourbon, several local distilleries are a short distance from campus, and you're able to get tours and learn all about Kentucky's history with bourbon.

The University of Kentucky is very friend;y and a close community. The staff and students become more like one's family. This University is always improving not only for their students but for everyone in the community. Improving and moving forward for a better future is why students should attend this University.

  1. Lexington is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. UK has one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. We are also adding lots of new dorms and facilities to make campus life even more enjoyable. I have not heard as many people say "Can I just head back to Lex now?" when on vacation as I have heard from people attending UK!
  2. We are ranked 2nd in safety. There are blue paw prints all around campus to keep you on the main roads if you are ever lost and the ROTC boys will come pick you up and escort you to whenever you need to be.
  3. Kentucky is a family. We love our school, our sports, and everyone enrolled. Who wouldn't want to be apart of the Big Blue Nation family?

For me, there are so many reasons why someone should attend UK, but if I had to pick the top three I would say it would be because, UK is a very scholarly university and one of the top research universities in the nation. UK is constantly looking to improve and houses many fields of study that provide growth for most students. The second reason would be that UK is a fairly large campus, but it's not so large that it's overwhelming. UK's campus has a lot of southern charm to it, and everyone feels like family. The third reason that someone should attend UK is that it offers many opportunities to get involved and meet new people. It also provides many ways to excel academically including internships and opportunities to study aboard. All of these are provided by an outstanding staff that are very helpful and caring.
