The three most popular extracurricular activities at FHS are the Crew Team, the Interact Club, and the UNICEF club. This is purely judging by the number of people, not the amount the extracurricular activity interacts with the school or its student body. The Crew team is by far the largest, because of the amount of underclassmen it attracts. Many join just to test out the waters, no pun intended, of the high school sports scene. Interact and UNICEF are popular, because they allow for lots of service opportunities.
I would recommend joining either Interact or UNICEF as they do allow for lots of opportunity for service and that is a fantastic thing. I would also recommend joining the yearbook club, because, firstly I'm on it, but also because joining a small niche group allows for students to really get close to each other and the club advisor, as I have. In addition, working on the yearbook, is like working on any publication. There are deadlines, creative arguments, and lots of running around. Lastly, I would recommend joining Model UN; again because I'm on it, but also because, it provides students a public speaking opportunity like no other. In addition, it encourages students to keep with the current events, which unfortunately not many kids do these days.
In all, there are many clubs and sports available to students at FHS, and they will be able to find ones that fit them best.
