I would say the average UMTC student was a hard worker but also someone who loved hanging out with friends and having fun. It takes a lot of studying to get into the U and I feel like many students had to work to get here to reach their goal. Students here are really good at working hard and getting the job done but also are really good at finding their friends to hang out for coffee or go to a party. The type of person going to the U should be devoted to their career goal or at least devoted to studying to figure out their end goal and should always be looking ahead while still willing to stop and smell the roses so they do not get worn out. The right person should know when it is time to hit the books but also when it is time to walk away.

I'd say hard-working is a big one. UMN is definitely academically-oriented, so it's important to realize the importance or hard work. Other than that, I'd say being accepting is very important. The U is (fortunately) super diverse. I absolutely love that, but it means everyone is open-minded and those are the ones that get on best here.

Anyone can attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, on a campus of 50,000 students there is tons of diversity. Students must be internally driven or have a strong external motivator, because professors here often have classes of over 300 students. The are ready to help if asked, but they wont hand-hold all 300 student's through class.
