While in high school, a typical Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University student was probably involved in clubs, athletic teams, AP classes, and still maintained a good GPA. In these different activities the student took up leadership positions and showed the different traits of the eight pylons; Brotherhood, Honor, Leadership, Sacrifice, Service, Loyalty, Duty, and Ut Prosim ("That I May Serve.").

Kids who will be right at home at Virginia Tech are smart and eager to learn -- but relaxed and laid back at the same time. They are passionate about what they love, but are open to the ideas of others as well. Kids who are friendly and warm and accepting are welcome here!
