Brian Monetti, Science is Awesome!
5,567 mi, which is almost exactly the same distance between New York and London. You can find this by using a globe or a map, and measuring the distance between the two cities. You then need to convert the distance you measure (say, 5 1/2 inches) to miles using the scale. A scale may read 1" = 1000mi, so for each inch you measure the actual distance will be 1000 miles. One trick for measuring on globes is to use a piece of string, and then measure the string.
The other way is to use a computerized map such as maps.google.com. In fact, if you search on google for "What is the distance from Clandeboye, Manitoba Canada to Tokyo, Japan?" it will actually tell you!
