University of Houston is located in the urban region of Houston, Texas which is known to be the fourth largest city in the United States. Therefore, there are tons to do and explore on campus as well as outside the UH perimeters. The number one place to be at UH is their large Recreation Center where students and members can perform their workout routine, play on basketball courts, volleyball, racquet ball, practice martial arts, and take aerobic classes. students and members can also be involved through the programs that the recreation center offers such as Intramural sports or the Cougar Cub Summer Day Camp. Since University of Houston is in the city, there will be many things to experience right outside campus. The second thing to do is to walk around Discovery Green which holds several events that are open to the pubic. For instance, Discovery Green held outdoor exercises such as yoga and zumba. Discovery Green also opens an outdoor ice skating rink during the winter every year. They also have live bands such as Kings of Leon who played back in 2011 perform there. The third thing to do is to visit a variety of museums which include the Art Car Museum, Buffalo Soldier National Museum, Menil Collection, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Museum of Natural Science... etc. The last main attraction is the Galleria which is Texas' largest shopping center. The Galleria draws many tourist and Houstonians by their high-end stores and signature restaurants as well as their strikingly large ice-skating rink.
