Melissa P.

I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My degree is in Teaching English as a Second language. I hope to finish school in about a year and work with ESL and bilingual children. As a requirement for my course in Advanced Second Language Literacy, I had the opportunity to tutor international graduate students in reading and writing. I worked with individuals from various countries such as, India, Turkey, and China. It was a positive experience that I will always cherish. I hope to continue tutoring and mentoring even after I earn my master’s degree. As a bilingual child, I struggled with various subjects and eventually improved. I can relate to student’s needs especially those who are bilingual and ESL. I hope that through understanding, patience, and guidance I can motivate any individual to never lose their zest for learning. And, through these actions, I hope to help motivate them enough to increase their attention span at school, organize themselves, and improve their overall study skills. Fun Facts: I am a "Star Trek: The Next Generation" fanatic. I also enjoy yoga, reading, and my current field of study which is Teaching English as a Second Language. I look forward to finishing grad school and pursuing a teaching career.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
