I Graduated from Health Careers High School in 2004 and currently attend St. Philips College. At St. Philips I am currently finishing my associates in Pre-Pharmacy and plan to work on another associates in Respiratory Care. From there I plan to work on my Masters in Healthcare Administration. I want to gain field experience by being a Respiratory Therapist and then become a hospital administrator. I have been tutoring for a little under a year now and it has been awesome. I never saw myself as a teacher or tutor but the rewards have been more than I expected. It's great to see the students face when they succeed and knowing that I assisted in that feeling. I like to call my approach the "student approach". What I like to do is ask the student what he/she is struggling with and how they are accustomed to learning. From there I develop a teaching method best suited for them to learn. I take a topic a question and from there teach it step by step. Once I go through that phase, I try and repeat throughout the lecture so that it sticks witb the student. If not, I have practice problems at the end and try to reiteratate the concepts that way. My main goal is to not go too fast and I always tell myself that every student is different and learns at different paces. Taking into account the students way of learning, releives the stress of the student and makes it easier for them to understand what I am trying to teach.Fun Facts: On my time off, when I don't have my head in a book, I love to watch sports. I am very competitive and determined and have played basketball since I was 5 years of age. This determination has translated into the classroom and very grateful for this.
