"Imagination is more important than knowledge"- Albert Einstein "If I have seen further, it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants"- Sir Isaac Newton These two quotes have really stood out to me in my academic career. Their messages are simple, yet offer a deep insight to productivity in the academic world. Many people possess the knowledge needed to complete an exercise (i.e. 6X6), but it takes a imaginative person to use that knowledge in special ways (i.e. Einstein formulating theories of relativity). It also important to understand, as Newton reminds us, that our knowledge is built upon the work of others. We learn and grow by analyzing and improving the ideas of others. My Tutor Philosophy: As a tutor, I try to reinforce basic ideas that will help students solve harder exercises and problems. As a tutor of math and physics, I also try to simplify material in a way that makes it easier to understand without taking away from the important points of the material. I am a dedicated tutor who knows what it is like to be stuck on a subject (and be completely frustrated!). I also believe that I am a good fit for young students because of my relatively young age. I know when I was a young student, I was sometimes intimidated by my elders (especially in one-on-one tutor sessions). But I felt comfortable when receiving help from my brothers. I believe students are more likely to ask someone they feel comfortable with a question they may think is "stupid". And that is why I would be a good fit for most students. I hope, and believe, I can help your student improve and build their academic skills as well as fuel their imagination!
