I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. I believe that a good teacher is one who creates developmentally appropriate lessons that meet the diverse needs of all learners, while providing hands-on activities that promote students’ interest to learn. A good teacher is one who plans ahead and reflects daily to become and remain effective as an educator and nurturer. I am from a strong heritage of educators. Long before completing grade school, my family supported me in discovering my passion for making a difference in the lives of children as well. I majored in Elementary Education at Delta State University of Cleveland, Mississippi, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Education degree.
