I am currently a senior at New York University majoring in Economics and minoring in Anthropology. After graduation, I will be working at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. as an Operations Analyst for 2 years. I hope to attend graduate school and eventually move into healthcare business. As a highly motivated individual, I am always looking out for outstanding learning opportunities. I first began tutoring in high school at Kumon Learning Center, where I helped students of all ages in mathematics. Once I came to college, I quickly found an opportunity to tutor at The Door, a local academic center for underprivileged kids. Currently, I am tutoring freshmen at the Broome Street Academy (located above The Door) in various subjects, including math, writing, and social studies. I am looking forward to meeting and teaching new students as a member of Frog Tutoring. My approach to tutoring and mentoring is quite simple - identify the student's area(s) of weakness and turn them into relative strengths. This is accomplished through having a positive attitude and practicing. I encourage students to ask questions and challenge themselves as much as possible in order to truly grasp the concepts at hand. In addition, I am always willing to offer tips on studying, staying organized, managing time, and test taking. From my past tutoring experiences, I have learned to become more patient and compassionate with others, qualities that I feel are essential to using this approach.Fun Facts: I am a huge foodie! I enjoy exploring new restaurants, sampling ethnic cuisines, and cooking with my family and friends. My favorite food? Anything with mango! I also love sports, especially basketball and tennis which I play regularly. I have been to 24 states and 7 countries - one of my lifelong goals is to visit every continent (though Antarctica may be difficult). A little known fact about me is that I used to live in Louisiana, which is where I have my earliest memories.
