Lindsay B.

I am a senior Elementary Education major, Spanish minor and emphasis attending Pacific Lutheran University. I have been on the Dean's List for all four years. When I graduate, I hope to find a job in the Northwest, preferably here in Washington or in Oregon. I will then go for my Master's within the first five years of teaching for ELL or Counseling. Throughout my high school career, I would volunteer my time at the local elementary school, tutoring students in math and reading three times a week. Entering college as an elementary education major, I was able to work with a variety of classes and students, especially small groups, in all subject areas. I believe, as a future educator, that students first of all need to understand that they have the capabilities and potential to do anything they set their minds to. As an educator, I establish this support and encouragement with all of my students. In addition, I believe that as an educator, it is my job to guide my students in their thought processes and understanding of content. I work with my students, probing questions and facilitating instruction only, instead of exercising direct instruction and simply handing my students the information. In addition, as a tutor, I hope to provide my students with skills and strategies that they can use in all subject areas-not necessarily provide assistance in one subject. Fun Facts: One passion I am known for is playing guitar and singing. I love to sing and have been playing guitar for over 7 years. I am very athletic and absolutely love sports. Football and volleyball are my favorite. I hope to get better at photography since it's become a hobby of mine. The beach is my favorite place to go and, because I hate shoes, I'm always wearing flip flops.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
