Shanthikumar M.

I graduated with a Bsc. Applied Mathematics and a minor in Statistics from the University of Houston Downtown in Fall 2013. I was part of the MAA (Mathematical Association of America) at UHD during my senior year. My future goal is to become an actuary and work in the insurance industry. Tutored friends and class mates in a variety of Math subjects from Algebra to Calculus , both in High school and College. Helped them with assignments as well as exam preparations, My tutoring approach is to aid the students in understanding the concept or theory ; then work a few examples to reinforce the material that i just went over. It's important that a student works out the problem by his / herself in order to grasp the subject matter. This is where assignments come into play. A tutor would essentially be cheating his students of a learning experience, if he worked all the problems for them. I strongly believe in helping students who are trying to work out problems on their own and making an honest attempt. Fun Facts: I prefer to go by Mayuran. My favorite hobbies are playing cricket, problem solving and watching detective shows. I have been playing cricket since I was a kid and still find it interesting despite the time period it takes to complete one game. Most of my childhood was spent in Sri Lanka, and I look forward to revisiting the island some time soon .

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
