I have 40 years of experience in drum performance and teaching. I have a degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance. I have had the opportunity to play all styles of music including marching band, Jazz band, country, rock, jazz styles, and symphonic generes. I have a passion for music and playing. I am a performance based person which in a sense after working hard you want to be able to measure and have fun with your craft. I provide a safe and fun enviroment of teaching. I am bringing a fresh and new approach to teaching drums in the Cincinnati area. While in the Kansas City Area I have shared the stage with Many Musicians and speakers, such as Tony Evans, The Association, Billy Cobham, First Baptist Church of Raytown. I have also done recordings and Musicals involving East Side Baptist Church, Theater at Vis and local school districts. I have studied under Charmaine Asher-Wiley, Dr. Dennis Rogers, and Dr. Mike Sekelsky. *** Lesson Details *** You may expect a great learning atmosphere and having some fun at the same time I use a variety of books and lessons to determine the level and playing style of each student. I feel the ability to read music is essential to the learning process although it is sometimes a benefit to learn by ear which I also have the means to do. I lead by example so that a student may be able to hear the detailed sound that a percussionist can aim for. Everyone learns at a different pace or ability so it is important to the student with proper guidance to feel comfortable and encouraged. *** Studio Equipment *** Upstairs room w/ drum set, sound system, seating for parents *** Travel Equipment *** Any percussion equipment, drum set and snare drum *** Specialties *** Jazz, Rock any style

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
