The best violin teacher in Manhattan. I pride myself on my long years of experience, friendly attitude, never-ending patience but mostly my ability to get along with others while still be an exacting, effective teacher. I work based on results, which is exactly what you will experience after Lesson 1. *** Lesson Details *** By the first lesson, you will be playing the violin. By the end of the second lesson, you will usually be playing a song. By the end of the second month, you will be comfortable reading and playing easy music. *** Studio Equipment *** 4/4 Violin for rental or sale 3/4 Violin for rental or sale 1/2 Violin for rental or sale 1/4 Violin for rental or sale 1/8 Violin for rental or sale Violin accessories (bows, rosin, strings, books, music) *** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to have their own instrument (violin and bow) and the essential accessories: rosin and preferably a shoulder rest. They will also need to purchase their method books as assigned though I will provide sheet music for songs outside of the books. *** Specialties *** I am currently composing a beginner's guide to the violin. I currently start students off with the volume 1 of Strictly Strings (violin) and have them learn the theory and do the exercises one by one and give them any assignments to study at home. If they are having trouble with a particular point, I have them drill it till they get it (then I have them practice it at home to make sure it sticks.) Sometimes a student needs more practice in a certain technique, so I will make up an exercise on the spot which will help them with it.

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
