Leann T.

I attend Salt Lake Community College, currently. I'm passionate about English, Gender Studies and Writing. I believe that anyone can learn, as long as they dedicate themselves to it. I have an Associates Degree in Business and am currently working on my Bachelors in English. I take courses at SLCC for fun, and for my degree I go to the University of Utah. During High School, I had a job with the school as a tutor - in a variety of subjects. Currently, I also aid and assist one person who happens to be autistic in tutoring and various other life and social activities. I have had varied employment and success in the fields I have worked in. Tutoring is a way for me to teach, and teaching has always been and always will be what I'm passionate about. I was also a Teaching Assistant for a Home School Program here in Salt Lake City. In addition, I have experience as a personal assistant for someone who is Autistic. Beginning a dialogue is the first step in any good tutoring program. If you can't talk to your students, then you can't tutor them. A good tutor knows when to push and when to try new things to get the message across. A great tutor never ignores one key factor in learning: that everyone learns differently. When one course of action seems like it's not working, it's time to try something new, something different. No question is stupid and students should be encouraged to ask all questions.Fun Facts: When not working, I spend most of my time writing or reading. I'm an avid reader. I enjoy all kinds of books but lately my favorites are Food Murder Mysteries, like The Donut Shop Series by Jessica Beck. I'm currently writing two novels in my spare time. I've always thought the way to get to a good life is to do what you enjoy and do it well. That's why I am a tutor and it's why I've tutored in the past. If you don't love what you do, then try to find something you do love. Life is hard, and it is difficult to be an adult, we can make it so much easier on each other if we just enjoy the reasons for getting out of bed. Though I do love to sleep, too! I have two cats. My cats are a joy in my life, it's nice having that companionship. Griffin is 6 months old and Kinnie is 6 years old. He's a tuxedo cat while she's a lynx-point siamese. They're as different as night and day. A somewhat interesting fact about me? I grew up in California and moved to Utah only because my sister lived here and needed me. When family needs you, you go. I spend my time volunteering with Autistic adults, when I am not doing school stuff, working, or attending to errands.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
