I hold two Masters degrees (MBA in Finance and a MA in Counseling). After spending more than 20 years in business and finance I made the decision to re-career in to counseling where I have spent the last several years. Most importantly I've successfully raised two daughters (now happy and successful young adults). Everything I do these days is about empowering myself and others toward positive change. If I can succeed in helping one person; it has been a very good day! I am an accomplished management professional with over 25 years of leadership experience in business. I'm very strong in negotiations, finance and accounting. I believe I possess exceptional communication and listening skills. I'm experienced and evocative teacher, having taught in many diverse settings. I'm also an intuitive and compassionate counselor. Whether I'm counseling or teaching (in my world I'm not sure there is much difference) my first step is always to figure out how the individual absorbs information most effectively(visual, auditory, etc.) and then customizing my approach to that. I'm also a big believer that if a subject can be brought to life through real world examples, learning is easier and more fun. Depending on the audience I think keeping a sense of humor can take off the pressure and in doing facilitate the learning.Fun Facts: 1. I was born in a town so small that sign saying "welcome" said it on both sides of the sign!(true story) 2. I've also been on top of over 10 of the 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado and most of the tallest peaks in Arizona. 3. I have a number of plants in my home (not very interesting), however I'd had one of them longer than my oldest daughter who is now 24 (pretty interesting). 4. I can stand on my head (mostly because I'm a yoga teacher)!
