Danielle P.

I am a senior at San Diego State University. I currently hold a 3.39 GPA. I transferred to SDSU with a 3.53 from a community college in Northern California. At that community college, I was on the Dean's list in 2008, and 2009. I earned multiple scholarships during my time there and graduated with honors with an AA in Liberal Studies. Here at SDSU, I am a member of the SCTA (teacher's association) club and will be attending the Representative Assembly Conference in Sacramento with fellow club members this March. I am a CRLA certified tutor. I earned this certification through classes at Columbia Community College. I was a tutor at the Academic Achievement Center at CCC from 2008-2010. I tutored Math, English, and Psychology, and made regular announcements on behalf of the tutoring center. It was an incredible experience. I worked with amazing people and learned how to interact with various types of students. I learn to access what the individual needed in order to assist them. I learned problem solving and time management skills. I am very eager to begin tutoring again because it is truly a passion of mine and something I am very confident in doing. I also tutored several middle school/high school student independently and was involved in program for students studying to earn their GED. As a child, I was a slow learning. I had the opportunity to be home-schooled and this experience allowed me to learn at a comfortable pace. I overcame many learning obstacles with the dedication and help of my family. They were so patient with me and taught me to ask myself questions and find answers. When tutoring, I attempt to do the same which facilitates individual ideas. I do not give answers but seek to gently guide tutees to their own questions(and answers). This is how I was taught. I am extremely passionate about children's education and enrichment. I love children. I love their energy. I have a particular soft spot for struggling students. I know how scary it can be to feel that you are falling behind. I am very excited to have the opportunity to assist and learn with students!Fun Facts: One very important part of my life is heath and fitness. I love hiking, swimming, and movement in general. Respecting my body and treating it well are two of my top priorities because it enables me to be a powerful, happy, and useful individual in society. Being healthy directly effects how well I can serve any purpose. Also, I love art of all kinds, animals, children, and my God.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
