I have been playing/writing music for the last 10 years. I am a very passionate, positive, and fun person; and my love for music shows in my lessons. Music is more than a hobby to me; it is truly my life, and I love sharing it with others. The very moment I learned to read music, I started creating music of my own. I enjoyed writing music so much that I decided (while in middle school!) that music was going to be my future, my career, my life! I learned to play guitar and started touring around the South-East, playing my songs for anyone and everyone. During this time I also started teaching private guitar lessons in music stores, for music companies, and at my home studio. This is where I developed my love for sharing the joy of music with others! Eventually, I decided to get serious and I enrolled as a music student at Reinhardt University, where I have been for the last 3 years. At Reinhardt, I am a music education major (focus in guitar), and have completed a minor in piano. Also, I play double bass in the Reinhardt Symphonic Winds and the Reinhardt Symphony Orchestra. Today, I am a composer and music teacher. I have taught over 60 students in my home studio, and I use the experience that I have gathered over the years to better teach my lessons. I spend the majority of my spare time writing new compositions, and in April 2012, I had my first piece commissioned and premiered by the Reinhardt Symphonic Winds! I am also an active performer, playing acoustic shows regularly. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons with me will be fun and relaxed, yet challenging! I know that sometimes, the fundamentals of music are not always the most exciting things to learn about. So, I strive to make lessons entertaining and musical from the very beginning! I will have you playing songs ASAP. I know exactly what steps to take to have you playing like a pro in the fastest time possible. I want to set you up for success, and I will give you the supplies to succeed (and have fun while doing it!). I drive my students to practice as much as possible; simply because daily practice at home is the best way to unlock your true potential. My lessons are a custom fit for each individual. There is no ONE way that everyone learns, and that is why I take the time to create lesson plans that are tailored to each student. Obviously, there are basics that every students needs to know, but beyond that, your personal musical goals will be at the forefront of your lessons with me! I have some students who love music theory, ones who enjoy improvization (creating music on the fly), and others who simply love to sing songs while strumming guitar. Whatever your passion, I will help you reach your goals and hopefully inspire you to create additional musical goals! *** Studio Equipment *** room for music lessons piano and drums seating for parents reinhardt : practice rooms w/ piano drum sets *** Travel Equipment *** I provide many instructional materials (worksheets, individualized lesson notes, etc.) I expect my students to provide an instrument and a method book (if he or she decides a method book is best for them). *** Specialties *** Rock, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Improvisation, Country, Pop, Lead Playing/Soloing, Bluegrass, Rhythm, Songwriting, Orchestration, Arranging

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
